"A Star Is Born" is the 7th episode of Season 7 of The Next Step and the 187th episode overall. It first aired on February 19, 2020.[1]
Synopsis[]
A surprise guest arrives at TNS and helps the dancers step out of their comfort zones.[1]
Plot[]
"I'll get to you when I get to you!" - The missing information in this section of the article is to be added. |
Trivia[]
- This episode became available on BBC iPlayer on February 12, 2020, one week prior to its scheduled release on CBBC.
- This episode does not feature a title sequence.
- This is the first episode to use a caption for a dancer that doesn't include their real name.
- Nick was born in Twickenham in London, England.
- Summer and Henry have officially ended their relationship.
- The Next Step Dance Studio may be auditioning for Dancemania.
- Kingston has a younger sister.[2]
- Kingston's ringtone is "Stand Up."[3]
Continuity[]
- Lily indirectly references Encore Dance Studios getting kicked out of Regionals, which happens in "And Then There Were Three".
- Nick references Emily's distaste of The Next Steep's name choice, a problem first established in "Copyright Infringement".
- Nick references Emily's 'partnership' with Michelle as co-studio heads, which first started in Season 5.
- Nick could also be referring to their co-captainship from Season 1 to Season 2, as Nick mentions in "The Goodbye Girl" that Emily has talked a lot about Michelle, but this seems unlikely, considering it has not been mentioned on the show since Nick bought the studio.
- In the obstacle course that Nick constructs in Studio 1, Thalia's Empire costume, James' Rewind costume, among others are seen.
Production Errors[]
- In "Run This Town" and "A Change Is Gonna Come", Eldon, James and Riley have each addressed the Talking Heads cameras, indicating that the characters know they are being filmed. It would thus seem illogical that Piper, Henry, Lily, Kingston and Summer to be preparing for rehearsal on TV given that they know their dance (and sometimes personal) lives are being filmed.
Behind the Scenes[]
- Despite being present for the first half of the episode, Kingston abruptly leaves halfway through. This is because Noah Zulfikar injured himself during Kingston's solo, so a story about him needing to babysit his little sister was created as an excuse for him to be absent for the rest of the episode.[2]
Cultural References []
- The title of this episode alludes to the romantic musical drama film A Star is Born.
