Amy Wright is the head choreographer, casting director and consulting producer of The Next Step.[1] She portrays Amy in the pilot of The Next Step and a fictionalised version of herself during Nationals in Season 8.

Biography[]

Amy Wright was born in Simcoe, Ontario, Canada.[2]

Career[]

She started her profession in 1995.[2] In 2008, her choreography was featured in the first season of So You Think You Can Dance Canada.[3]

Her most recent and reputable works include: Crimson Peak, Saving Hope, Grey Gardens.[2] She has worked with famous actors and actresses, such as: Tom Hiddleston, Jason Priestly, Drew Barrymore, Rachel McAdams, Eric Bana, Helen Mirren, Brian Cox, and Jessica Lange.[2] She has also choreographed for commercials, such as the "Happy Dance" Lotto 6/49 campaign.[2]

She was also the choreographer in the Netflix show Dare Me, in which Brittany Raymond, Taveeta Szymanowicz and Erika Prevost all acted in. [4]

She was also the casting director for the Find Me in Paris, in which Jessica Lord was the lead character.[5] According to Brittany Raymond and Brennan Clost, both also auditioned for the show, with Brittany getting close to being cast as Lena Grisky before the role went to Jessica Lord.[6]

Personal life[]

She is the most watched choreographer, having garnered 600 million viewers internationally.[2]

Amy has a son named Rowan.[7]
