I plan all of these scenarios but I didn't plan for this, we're doomed.

Trivia[]

  • This episode does not feature a title sequence.
  • This episode does not have any white walls.
  • A rule at Dancemania is that all dancers representing a team must compete with their team in the first round, a dancer is not able to join the troupe at a later round. Any team who breaks this rule is immediately disqualified.
  • J-Cruise scored a 97, winning the group category and advancing to the finale
  • The Next Step scored a 86 in the group category and were temporarily eliminated from the competition. However, they have been voted to compete in the resurrection round.
  • Nick and Richelle are on good-terms.
  • The first day of Dancemania competition was dedicated to the group division, thus Richelle did not compete in this episode.

Continuity[]

  • Richelle references her growing up at The Next Step which first becomes known in "Don't Stop the Party".
  • Nick references Richelle bailing on the team at the last second to compete as a soloist which occurs in "Dance, Dance, Resurrection".
  • Nick states that dancers deciding to audition themselves without notice has become a recurring event; this is likely a reference to Summer and Richelle leaving to audition for Dancemania as soloists which occur in "A Tale of Two Auditions" and "Dance, Dance, Resurrection" respectively.
  • Lily references how she and Kingston dance better when they're fighting, which is first brought up by Eldon in "The Bicycle Thief".
  • Nick continuously stating facts from past Dancemania seasons reaffirms his "Dancemaniac" status first revealed in "Lights, Camera, Action!".
  • Choreography from The Next Step's first round performance is similar to and most likely taken from both the trios choreographed by Amy and Henry in "Eight Crazy Dates".
  • Richelle references her tendency to get nervous before she performs onstage which first became known in "Livin' on a Prayer".

Behind the Scenes[]

  • Unlike most group dances where couples are paired together, such as James and Riley being partnered together in the Nationals "Unsinkable" semi-finals group dance, Nationals "Rewind" finals group dance, Internationals music-mystery small group dance, Internationals "Let's Dance Tonight" semi-finals group dance and Internationals "Empire" finals group dance, Eldon and Michelle being partnered in the Regionals "Stand Up" finals group dance, Eldon and Thalia being partnered in the Internationals "Let's Dance Tonight" semi-finals group dance and Internationals "Empire" finals group dance, and Noah and Jacquie being partnered in the Regionals "Hold On to Me" finals group dance and the Regionals "Even When We're Gone" tiebreaker group dance, in the "One Dance" group dance, Kingston and Amy are partners, Heath and Lily are partners and Henry and Kenzie are partners, despite Amy and Henry dating and Kingston and Lily dating. Katie Ortencio revealed that this is due to the dancers' heights in this particular season and that it was easier for them to do dance partnering with the pairings, regardless of the other characters that their characters were dating.[2]
  • Allain Lupien is credited as a choregrapher for this episode.
  • Isaac Lupien and Emily Roman are credited as assistant choreographers for this episode.

Errors[]

  • This is one of many occasions when a character incorrectly states that it has been a year since the previous season; in this episode, Nick says that it has been one year since Dancemania: Season 12, although the finale was shown to air during the Off Season episode "Dancemania Finale" which occurred in between Season 6 and Season 7, approximately 3 months prior the events of the episode.
