Big Decisions is the 19th episode of Season 7 of The Next Step and the 199th episode overall. It first aired on July 8, 2020.[1]
Synopsis[]
Summer receives a letter with a life-changing opportunity that would ruin Cleo's plans.[1]
Plot[]
Richelle is on her phone in Studio A waiting for Nick to arrive with costumes for Dancemania. Richelle was excited when the costume has arrived. Richelle and Nick are trying to get the costumes unzipped from the bag, while Emily is sitting in the Studio A office saying that Nick is excited for Dancemania and she is excited too but she couldn't stop thinking about Michelle's offer. Emily said that for the first time she doesn't know what to do. When Richelle unzipped the costume she said this is not what they ordered. Richelle says the costume looks beautiful and that they are really different. Nick said that the costume is for the first round of Dancemania and with the costumes arriving everything is falling to place. Nick sees a letter in the pocket of the costumes that is for Summer. Richelle reacts and was stunned when Summer received a letter from Dancemania since she auditioned as soloist and is confused why they would send a letter to Summer.
Summer is in Studio 1 working on choreography for the Nationals routine, she said B-Troupe has been making huge improvements every day and she wanted to make sure all of the dances are perfect. She never thought she would be in B-Troupe and is loving being in the troupe and can't wait for Nationals. Nick arrives in Studio 1 to give Summer the letter that was from Dancemania, Summer opens the letter and says Dancemania want her to audition again after one of the soloist's dropped out. Nick was so happy for her and Summer is torn about whether to chose Nationals or Dancemania.

- Summer is going to audition as a soloist for Dancemania.

Continuity[]
- Richelle refers to the fact that Summer auditioned for Dancemania as a soloist, which occurs in "A Tale of Two Auditions."
- B-Troupe encouraging Summer to audition for Dancemania is reminiscent of Summer telling A-Troupe to choose Dancemania over Nationals which occurs in "There Can Only Be One".
- Richelle mentions Noah leaving The Next Step Dance Studio which occurs in "Piano Man."
- Richelle's solo to "Empire Part 3" is reminiscent of Noah's solo to "Empire Part 2" which is performed in "Dancing with the Enemy."
- While Richelle is dancing, a series of scenes from previous episodes are shown:
- Richelle talking with Emily about being dance captain from "Anything You Can Do, I Can Do Better".

Errors[]
- Grace confesses that she saw A-Troupe dancing to this song and it made her want to become a dancer. However, Season 2's A-Troupe dance to this song in "Make a Plan to Love Me" was performed exclusively in the studio and no one could have seen it.
Production Errors[]
- Myles Erlick and Trevor Tordjman are credited for being in this episode, despite only appearing in flashback scenes. Despite this, Emmerly Tinglin, who also appeared in archival footage, is not credited for her appearance.
Behind the Scenes[]
- While the footage does not appear in actual deleted scenes like those from "Sweet and Salty", deleted scenes of Winnie being chosen and then fired as dance captain of B-Troupe are shown in behind the scenes footage instead.
