Brennan Jared[2] Clost (born October 20, 1994) plays Daniel on The Next Step.

Biography []

Brennan Clost was born on October 20, 1994, in Burlington, Ontario, Canada to Robin Clost and Scott Clost.

Brennan Clost has trained for ten years in diverse styles of dance, including jazz, tap, ballet, hip-hop, contemporary, and acro.[3]

He was Mr. Onstage New York in 2006, Mr. Showbiz in 2008, and a Silver Medalist at World Showdance Championships in Riesa, Germany in 2008.[3]

He previously attended and graduated from Joanne Chapman's School of Dance, and then went to the world-renowned Juilliard in New York City, from which he graduated in 2016.[4]

Career[]

He has performed in: the Toronto Children's Festival, YTV's film King Of The Camp, at the Annual Mary Kay Cosmetics Gala, TSN Sports Celebrity Gala, on Canada's Got Talent, and Degrassi: The Next Generation.[3]

He starred as the Nutcracker Prince in the American Girl movie: Isabelle Dances Into the Spotlight.

In 2017, Brennan starred in the web series Spiral, alongside fellow TNS cast member Alexandra Beaton.

He was an assistant choreographer in Season 7.[5]

He most recently starred as Shane in the Netflix dance drama series titled Tiny Pretty Things

Brennan and Brittany Raymond worked together to create their own web-series Australianaires which is available on YouTube on their shared channel Knuckles on Four Productions. [6]

Personal life[]

Brennan has a brother named Trevor.[4]

  • Brennan's favourite music artists include Fun and Carly Rae Jepsen.[4]
  • Brennan's favourite food is a grilled cheese sandwich.[4]
  • Some of his hobbies are reading, walking his dog, hanging out with his brother and running.[4]
  • Since leaving "The Next Step" Brennan has gone on to play Shane in the Netflix series "Tiny Pretty Things" based on the popular book of the same name.
  • In a 2020 interview with DigitalSpy Brennan Clost came out as gay.[7]
    • However, Brennan regularly refused to label his sexuality, only revealing he was "not straight".
