SYNOPSIS[]
Dancers start to become serious as Nationals places are on the line. A shock alternate decision is made.
PLOT[]
Kenzie is dancing to Right Here, Right Now when she says, “I feel like I’m not really that important to the team anymore, I need to raise my game to be a featured dancer on the Nationals team.” "I know I'm probably going to be an alternate but I will be extremely dedicated to the team and I hope Angela recognizes that."
*Theme song plays with Richelle and Summer, Amy and Piper, Lily and Kingston, Henry and Heath, Ozzy and Izzy then finally, Davis and Kenzie.*
Amanda says, “Okay everybody listen up! "We got 2nd in the trio competition behind Dance Vision so well done everybody!"
Alexandra says, “I’m really sorry we didn’t win, guys, I've let the whole team down…” Everyone tells her it's alright and the shouldn't worry. Amanda quietly says to Alexandra, "Riley said that you and Skye need to go to speak to her before the B-Troupe rehearsal today." She says okay despite the look of skepticism on her face.
*Cuts to Studio 1 where Cleo and Jude are standing*
Riley speaks about Cleo and Jude's chemistry and how they'll do on the Nationals duet.
Riley says “I have finally decided you will do the Nationals duet.” She says, "The pairing needs lots of chemistry and I've seen Cleo and Jude have that.” “I think with your styles it would be good if it is a commercial duet which you could both kill at competitions.” "I was in our last Nationals duet so good luck guys!" She says, "James is coming to choreograph this routine tomorrow because I know how hard competition is and I'm not taking any chances."
Jude says, “I’m really happy that me and Cleo both get featured at nationals in a duet.” “I guess we have to get practicing.”
Amanda remembers her past at The Next Step.
*Studio A is shown, with Amanda starting a dance to Rewind*
Amanda says, "I knew ever since I came back, I would have to visit Studio A. It where everything went right and wrong." “There were setbacks, and victories.” Winning Internationals was great and all, but I didn’t even get to dance.” “The regionals final, maybe things could have been different…..” “It’s all in the past now.” “I’m hopefully going to open my own studio soon.” “I didn’t really know what to do after the tour finished.” “Giselle was able to get some opportunities.” “I wasn’t so lucky.”
*Scene changes to the office with Phoebe doing paperwork*
Phoebe speaks about her time in Studio A
She says, “The alternates are being picked today, Angela picked Ozzy, Izzy, Davis, Heathcliff and Kingston to try out." "I need to audition them and I can’t wait.” “My yoga sessions are back open tomorrow!" I am really excited but this is my last duty in Studio A." She dances to Mountains, in the Studio A office. Phoebe sends a group text to the group chat telling them to prepare their solos for the auditions. She also sends the song which is I Found My Voice.
*Cuts to Studio 1, where Riley is on the phone to Emily*
Riley says, "How are things on the tour?" Emily replies "Good, we still need a duet and a youth dance group." "Okay well I've got to go so bye." She slowly puts the phone down.
*Goes to Double The Drinks, The Rehearsal Room and The Locker Room where all potential alternates are seen running to Studio A*
Phoebe says "Alright everyone!" "I want to see your freestyle choreo!"
*They finish the solos*
She says "Okay Davis, Kingston and Izzy you are free to leave." "You will not be made the alternates." Kingston and Davis both smile and head back towards The Rehearsal Room.
Heath speaks about not knowing what's next for him and The Next Step.
Kingston says, "I feel really bad for Ozzy but I need to start focusing again." "This was just the wakeup I needed realize my place was in jeopardy.
Heath says, "I honestly don't know wants next for me." "I have to be featured at Nationals cause I'll probably not get another chance." "I've always wanted to be on A-Troupe but I'm not really sure anymore."
*Cuts to Studio 1 where Skye and Alexandra are stretching*
Skye says, "I honestly have no idea why we are here, but Alex said it's important so I'll let it slide." She smiles toward the camera.
Riley says, "Thanks for coming guys." "Since some people haven't payed so I thought I would get two dancers that would step in if there's any trouble and that's you two." She says, "I'm playing it safe. After last time I need to get back to victory and I just don't want to be in that tough position again." "I've seen them both come in super early and leave almost as late as me." "They are both super dedicated to dance and that's what we need on the team." The girls both excitedly say thank you and leave.
*Outro song plays, with Cleo and Jude, Presley and Winnie, Ethan and Marcus, Maya and Grace, Sasha and Pete then finally Gabi and Camille before the credits roll.*
