Trivia[]
- This episode does not feature a title sequence.
- This episode does not have any white walls.
- This episode's previously segment features a different song as the rest of the season.
- Emily has left The Next Step Dance Studio to go on tour with Michelle.
- However, it is uncertain if A-Troupe know that she has left, as Emily leaves without saying goodbye and she is not mentioned for the remainder of the episode. However, seeing as they returned to the studio without Emily, it can be deduced they were told off-screen of Emily's departure.
- The fact that Michelle and Emily have created their own tour may be a reference to Victoria Baldesarra (Michelle) and Brittany Raymond (Riley)'s real-life dance tour "The Brittany and Victoria Tour" in early 2019 for Australia and New Zealand, following both of their "graduations" from The Next Step.[2]
- A-Troupe has been disqualified from Dancemania due to Richelle dancing with them.
- Richelle is a member of A-Troupe again.
- A-Troupe and Richelle are on good terms.
- Due to A-Troupe being disqualified and Maria voiding their contracts they are no longer considered professional dancers, meaning that they can compete at Nationals.
- It is unknown whether A-Troupe or B-Troupe will be going to Nationals.
- J-Cruise has won Dancemania by default as both The Next Step Dance Studio and Richelle have been disqualified.
- The roles A-Troupe play from Alice in Wonderland are:
Continuity[]
- The automatic disqualification of The Next Step Dance Studio for having a member join them at a later date is hinted at when Sean tells Piper this ruling in "And So It Begins".
- Henry recites the quote "live as a team, die as a team, but always a team", first said by Michelle and Emily in "Go West, Young Michelle".
- Ozzy refers to when Richelle first started on J-Troupe and how he looked up to her when he was on J-Troupe which were revealed in "Don't Stop the Party" and "Crushing on Richelle" respectively.
- The idea of the Alice in Wonderland theme was first mentioned by Emily in "Price Tag".
- Richelle performs the same running lift off people's backs in the final dance that she performed in the Regionals qualifier video video in "Pointe of No Return".
- Several B-Troupers state that "Stand Up" is The Next Step's song, which was first mentioned by Richelle in "This Changes Everything".
- The choreography from B-Troupe's dance reprises some of the same moves from deleted scenes shown in the behind the scenes of "Big Decisions", which can be viewed on The Next Step's official Youtube channel.
- Ethan references that The Next Step Dance Studio won Regionals (with the song "Stand Up") which takes place in "Winner Takes All".
- Presley performs the same "shush" movement which Eldon performs in "Get the Party Started".
- The final scene of A-Troupe and B-Troupe competing for the Nationals team is reminiscent of how TNS East and TNS West were competing for the Regionals team in Season 5.
Behind the Scenes[]
- Trevor Tordjman, who plays James, and Jordan Clark, who plays Giselle, choreographed A-Troupe's finale dance for this episode.[3] They are credited as co-choreographers for this episode.
- Allain Lupien, who plays Lucien, is credited as a choreographer for this episode.
- Isaac Lupien, who plays Eldon, and Denise Goping, who plays a J-Cruise dancer, are credited as assistant choreographers for this episode.
- J-Cruise's "The Big Storm" dance is choreographed by Allain Lupien and derived from the real life Canadian Dance Company's group dance "Heroes", which Myles Erlick (Noah), Devon Brown (Max) and Tyler Hutchings (Tyler) originally danced in, albeit set to different music.[4]
Errors[]
- Ethan states that The Next Step Dance Studio won Regionals with the song "Stand Up", although B-Troupe is performing to the Stand Up (remix) version.
