Due to her excellent dancing, Summer has a few meaningful relationships and a few enemies too.

Friends

Amy

Summer and Amy first meet when they are auditioning for the Stacy Carpenter Scholarship.[1] When Summer joins A-Troupe, she and Amy become friends. When Summer is placed in the front line for the Regionals group dance, Summer is elated despite Amy's disappointment. However, they remain on friendly terms, even after Amy "blows off steam" alongside Richelle and Jacquie which results in all three getting a scolding from Emily and Michelle.[2] Most notably, Summer and Amy remain friends with the latter not attempting to trick Summer out of her front row centre spot, unlike Richelle and Jacquie.[3]

Piper

Summer first meets Piper when they are auditioning for the Stacy Carpenter Scholarship. Piper compliments Summer's dancing and when Summer arrives at The Next Step, she and Piper become friends.[1][4] Summer even goes out of her way to try and warn Piper that Lily is Miss Angela's daughter and feels guilty when she fails to do so. Despite hardly knowing Piper, Summer is the one who speaks to Lily about keeping Piper on A-Troupe and stands up to Miss Angela in Piper's defence.[5]

Neutral

Jacquie

Summer is initially friendly with Jacquie, but not particularly close to her. However, once Summer gets front row centre in the Regionals group dance, she falls on Jacquie's bad side since Summer "just started at The Next Step". Things become even worse between them when Jacquie finds out that Noah believes that Summer is a better dancer than she is, it is likely that Summer becomes Jacquie's enemy, although Summer does not harbour any grudge against Jacquie.[2] Summer is tricked by Jacquie and Richelle to attend an AcroNation workshop and miss rehearsal, but after hearing their apology, albeit a reluctant one, she forgives them for their transgression. However, it is likely that she does not trust them as fully as she did before.[3]

Richelle

Summer's first impression of Richelle is that Richelle will be the one to bring down Miss Angela.[5] However, when she believes that Richelle has betrayed A-Troupe to be Lily's assistant and have the featured duet at Regionals, Richelle becomes Summer's enemy.[6] Upon discovery that Richelle was undercover, Summer and Richelle become acquaintances.[7] However, when Summer gets front row centre in the Regionals group dance, she is instantly considered Richelle's rival.[2] Summer is tricked by Richelle and Jacquie to attend an AcroNation workshop and miss rehearsal, but after hearing their apology, albeit a reluctant one, she forgives them for their transgression. However, it is likely that she does not trust them as fully as she did before.[3]

Love Interests

Henry

Summer and Henry's first meaningful interaction occurs when Henry asks her, Finn and Noah for help with his promposal to Amy. Summer thinks that Henry's promposal is incredibly sweet and that Amy is very lucky that he likes her that much.[8] In an attempt to make him feel better about Amy rejecting him for Ty, Summer invites Henry to go to prom with her and they enjoy the night together. Summer is disappointed when she doesn't get to dance to a slow song with Henry, especially since he dances that dance with Amy.[9] When Summer walks in on Henry dancing a passionate solo, she invites him to get juice with her, which is the start their closer friendship. [10] After a bet with Henry about who will get into the Regionals hip-hop routine and having hung out a lot outside the studio for fun, Summer and Henry make their relationship official.[11]
