After regionals, The Next Step was close to becoming bankrupt, Cierra suggested a local competition that awards 5000 dollars to the winner. Emily and Giselle recruit six dancers to be on the team competing in this competition. They have to keep it a secret from Miss Kate as she doesn't approve of the competition.
