TNS East and TNS West had a dance battle to determine which of the two teams would be given the chance to qualify for the Absolute Dance Regionals The dance battle took place on a Sunday and was judged by Kate, with James and Riley's assistance.[1]
History[]
Upon discovering that only one of the studio's teams can attend Absolute Dance Regionals, Michelle and Emily agree to holding a dance battle between their teams, TNS West and TNS East, in order to determine which team gets to compete.[2] The dance battle is to take place on the same Sunday as Zara's math quarter final.[2]
Throughout the dance season, both teams create and rehearse their routines for the event, even compromising their principle dance styles for the sake of having an optimal routine and to cater to Kate's taste.[3]
In order to decide whether the dance battle is to be held in Studio 1 or Studio A, a duet dance-off is held; Piper and Elliot beat Amy and Noah, meaning that the battle will be held in Studio A.[4]
After Emily pulls Zara out of the line-up, she convinces Michelle to make the competition a quintet competition. After the competition, Kate, with the help of James and Riley, deem TNS East the winner.[1]
The competition is made redundant after Miss Kate pulls The Next Step from the competitive dance season. Eventually the two teams merge. [5]
